cane sugar2

Ingredients :

  • 4 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of organic whole cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 2 eggs

Preparation :

In a large bowl place the flour, cornstarch, butter, baking powder & organic whole cane sugar and chop/mix until smooth. Add the eggs & the vanilla and mix until everything is well combined.

Cut out cookie shapes and bake for 20 minutes in the oven.

chicken

Ingredients :

  • 8 pieces of previously seasoned chicken
  • 1/4 cup organic sugar
  • a little bit of coca cola

Preparation :

In a large and greased pyrex place 8 pieces of chicken that have been previously seasoned. Wet it with a little bit of Coca Cola and sprinkle organic whole cane sugar on top. Place in the oven for 1 hour, constantly checking the chicken and sprinkle more organic sugar. Serve with Salad.

cake

Ingredients :

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups organic sugar
  • 2 cups candied fruits
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup diced figs
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup rum or amaretto
  • 1 tablespoon of grated orange peel
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 230 grams of butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs

Preparation :

Prepare a crown mold of 14 cups capacity and grease it. Then cover the bottom with waxed paper or parchment and grease it again, then pour some flower on it. Pre-heat oven to 350 F. In a pot place candied fruit, raisins, figs, marmalade, orange juice, rum, grated orange peel, and the organic whole cane sugar. Place the pot over low heat and stir constantly , let it boil for 10 minutes.  Remove from stove.

In a large bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Place this mix aside. In a separate large bowl stir the butter and the vanilla until creamy, add the eggs one by one, and the fruit mix that should still be warm. Combine with flour mix until well combined. Pour this mix into the prepared mold. Bake for 1 hour, remove the cake from oven and allow to cool , remove from mold and decorate as desired. 

carrot cake

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups whole flour
  • 1 cup regular flour
  • 1 1/2 cups organic whole cane sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups grated carrots
  • 1 cup of canned crushed pineapple
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

Preparation :

Preheat oven to 350F. Place the organic whole cane sugar with olive oil in a mixer until its well combined. Next add the eggs, flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, carrots, and pineapple.  Grease a mold and sprinkle with flour. Por mix in mold and bake for 50 minutes (approx).

torrejas

Torrejas are a traditional sweet dish from El Salvador, very similar to american style french toast.

Ingredients :

  • 2 loaves of french bread (from the previous day)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups of Organic Whole Cane Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • vegetable oil

Preparation :

In a pot add water, organic sugar, and cinnamon sticks. Place on high heat and stir constantly until boils, then reduce to low heat and allow to thicken and caramelize.

Cut slices of bread about 3/4 inch thick. In a large bowl whisk the egg whites until stiff and gradually add the egg yolks, one at a time. In a separate bowl add milk. Soak each slice of bread in the milk then, soak the bread in the eggs, and transfer to a hot frying pan , fry until golden.

Add a little water to the syrup , bring to a boil and place the torrejas in the syrup for 1-3 minutes. Serve on plate decorated with cinnamon sticks and sprinkle with cinnamon powder.

chocolate cookies

Ingredients :

  • 2/3 cups of butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup organic whole cane sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/3 cups of cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

Preparation :

In a large bowl mix the butter and the organic sugar. Add the egg, milk, vanilla and mix well.  In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt, cocoa, and baking soda. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the mix until well combined. Place the cookie dough in the refrigerator for an hours or until the mix is malleable. 

Heat the oven to 350F , grease a baking sheet.

Make little balls with the mix (1 1/4 inches), flatten each ball slightly. With a knife form a star on the surface of each cookie and sprinkle with organic sugar.

Bake for 12-14 minutes , remove from oven and sprinkle with sugar , allow to cool.

makes 2 dozen cookies.   

rice pudding

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 cup organic sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon lemon peel
  • 3 cups warm milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg yolks

Preparation :

In a pot place the rice with water , cinnamon sticks and lemon peel. Cover pot and place over low heat until the rice has cooked (popped). Once the rice is cooked add the warm milk and the salt. Mix and continue cooking at medium temperature until it thickens. Remove from the stove, add the organic whole cane sugar and the yolks. 

apple dessert

Ingredients :

  • 8 apples peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2 cups organic cane sugar
  • 20 grams of cream cheese 
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1/2 cup organic whole cane syrup (optional)

Preparation :

In a large pot , heat the apples. In a separate bowl mix the cream cheese, organic whole cane sugar, orange juice, and evaporated milk. Pour mixture over apples ad add the raisins. Cook for 10 minutes on low heat.
